Although raw food and particularly raw superfood has been in existence for centuries, it is only recently that scientists are beginning to appreciate their exemplary health benefits.



Currently, it is not uncommon for medical professionals to prescribe specific diets constituting of such foods. This is because the particular fruits, vegetables and other plants contain unusually high antioxidant levels, concentrated vitamins, useful minerals and fiber. Most of all, they contain certain phytochemicals which offer vital protection against many types of diseases.

Benefits of Going Raw

Due to its rich nutrient content, raw food has the capacity of preventing and even curing various illnesses without significant harmful side effects. This is a remarkable benefit that makes it an even better alternative to conventional medication which normally has attendant  side effects.

For those seeking to control their body weight or slow aging, going raw is a good solution. The nutritionally rich raw diets help the body remain healthy and strong while preventing age-related illnesses. Such diets also avoid build up of excessive body fat.

3. Although the cacao bean has always been associated with the delicious chocolates; in its raw state, it serves a much different function as an excellent raw food. It provides a good source of magnesium which is attributed to helping balance brain bio-chemistry and building of strong, healthy bones.

A variety of nutritious and beneficial raw foods are available for anyone to take advantage of their rich healing attributes. In fact, many such foods have high concentrations of nutrients that are comparable to nutrient supplements; hence making them a better choice as opposed to artificial supplements.

Unfortunately, someone who has never gone raw may find it a big challenge. However, there is nothing complex abut eating raw food. Here are two tips to help in gradually changing the diet:

(i) Make sure to include raw fruits during every meal. This may include avocados, berries and dried fruits. Also make a habit of drinking fresh, green juice which can be mixed with some fruits.

(ii) Always eat vegetables that are fresh and raw. When eating out, order a salad instead of grilled vegetable.
